Bromyard Town Councillor to stand for Labour

Bromyard Town Councillor and Deputy Mayor Roger Page has been chosen to stand for the General Election as the Labour Party Candidate.

Roger lives in Bromyard although originates from Smethwick in the Black Country, he is also Chairman of the Bromyard Chamber of Trade and Industry, and works in the private sector as a Planning and Licensing Consultant.

Councillor Page said "I am pleased to be chosen as the Labour Candidate for North Herefordshire, the Constituency in which I live, if elected I strongly believe that constituents come first and Westminster second although, of course, I recognise what impact the decisions of Parliament have at a local level."

"Our public services in Herefordshire are creaking under the strain of Tory Government cuts, even Conservative run Herefordshire Council know that."

"From pot holes to social care, education funding to libraries, all are at financial breaking point, I will fight for a fairer deal for the County"

He added "As a Democratic Socialist I just believe in a fairer Society, closing the gap upwards between the rich and the poor, giving opportunity for the many not the few. I will fight a vigorous local campaign in the interests of North Herefordshire."
