Bromyard RBL youth member and Bromyard army cadet Corporal Stephen Gow carried the standard at the RBL annual meeting of the county conference.
During the past year Stephen has attended training schedules with the RBL county parade marshal Ian Stephens at Suvla Barracks in Hereford, where he has learned how to bear the standard and other aspects of RBL ceremonial duties.
Mathew Poyner is the Bromyard branch standard bearer but there are times when he is unable to attend so Stephen will act as a back-up.
Jan Brodie-Murphy, secretary of the Bromyard branch, said: "This young lad has made legion history in Herefordshire and Bromyard.
"He is the first Royal British Legion youth member to carry the Bromyard branch standard and represent us at county level.
"What an accomplishment for this young man. He carried out his duties impeccably with flair and confidence and it was evident that he revelled in this role."
At the county conference Bromyard RBL came up trumps again for a second year running winning the RBL County President's Cup.
This cup is given to a branch with 60 members or less for efficiency and for consistently taking a keen interest in legion activities.
Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire Lady Darnley presented the award to branch chairman Norman Dunn.
