Bromyard's local Concert Band performed at the Humanities College in Bromyard on St George's Day, in a Tribute Prom Concert to Her Majesty the Queen, to celebrate her 90th birthday.

The charity concert raised almost £400 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC), and local MAAC rep Mary Seldon who helped organise the event said she was very pleased with this result.

A capacity audience was able to listen and join in with old Prom favourites, such as "Land of Hope and Glory", "Rule Britannia" and "Jerusalem".

Other items included Elgar's "Nimrod", Dvorak's "Slavonic Dances" and Bernstein's "West Side Story".

Students from Queen Elizabeth Humanities College also performed in a couple of numbers with Bromyard Band, and individually.

The band's Musical Director, David Thomas, was the compere, and helped the programme move along with alacrity.

The Wind Band is now looking forward to its Summer Season with various bookings ahead; the main one being another Charity Concert on Friday July 15, at The Falcon Hotel, Bromyard.
