The Brockhampton estate, near Bromyard, is leaping into Easter and spring with a host of events to bring in the holiday crowds.

The National Trust venue, famous for its moated medieval manor house, says it will be "the place to be" this Easter holiday.

A spokesman said: "We have been inspired by leaping lambs, Easter and the rhythms of the farming year at Brockhampton.

"Brockhampton estate is taking its lead from the historic farming calendar with a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt running throughout the school Easter holidays."

The spokesman added: "Visitors can also explore traditional shepherding and how places like Brockhampton would have made the most of the wool and fleeces from the sheep reared on the estate."

Visitors will also discover the role of the damson orchards in the sale of wool from the estate "and get an insight into rural life and traditional sheep farming in Herefordshire".

The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt will run throughout the Easter holidays, Friday March 25 to Sunday April 10.

The spokesman added: "At the beginning of April we will be looking back to our medieval heritage with the Medieval Mayhem event on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3.

"Sylvesta the jester will be showing children how to be a medieval jester with jester school. Learn how be the best tom fool and how to make merry the medieval way.

"Also on this weekend the Ledbury Waytes will be providing minstrels and dancing to enhance the medieval atmosphere around the moated manor house and serenading visitors with music and song."

On the last weekend of the Easter holidays, Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10, Warren Farm will be introducing visitors to newly born lambs in the orchard behind the manor house.

The spokesman said: "The lamb handling event will enable to your little ones to get up close and personal with our little ones. Meet these gentle creatures and help the farmers to care for them. "Sorry, no dogs will be allowed at the lamb handling event."
