Town Council Supports Porthouse Development

BTC LogoAt the meeting of the Planning Committee held on Monday (3rd March) it was resolved to support the hybrid planning application by Marsten Developments (Worcester) Ltd for outline consent for 76 houses (35% affordable/social) and 5 B1 industrial units together with a full application for one industrial unit. The application also included office space provision at the frontage of the industrial units at Porthouse Farm,Tenbury Road

Chairman Councillor Roger Page in moving the resolution said that this compromise on the Porthouse Farm site was a good example of localalism because the project had been negotiated with the Town Council,he further commented `it is time,after a decade of controvesy over this site that some development should now take place`The resolution was passed by 4 votes to 3 with one member abstaining.The application will now be considered by Herefordshire District Council,probably in April supported by the Town Council.
